What’s going on with the
site? Why doesn’t the online store work?
Well, we started to
replace one plank that we knew needed replacing,
then we got a good look underneath.
Ohhhh.....
That old
familiar sinking feeling.
No simple, quick fix. Not rot, not exactly, but we have
rather abruptly discovered that our online store
needs some major new structural parts before she is back in
the water and running with all sales set.
Meanwhile, we’re back to the old-fangled way of doing
business online: by phone or by email order then we can
bill your card (or you) using Paypal. Paper and stamps
still work also, of course.
Yes, it’s a royal pain. We apologize profusely. We’ll have
the store repaired as soon as we can, but it will be at
least a week, possibly somewhat longer. (We don’t like that
“somewhat” but until certain things are complete, it’s not
clear how long the rest will take.) The fact that one key
piece of software has to come by mail (yup, we’re waiting
for the pony) doesn’t help speed things up.
When we’re done, not only will our online store work again,
we’ll be adding new features to the site, including more
images and slideshows, etc. It will all be good but she’ll
be in the shed for awhile longer.

We truly appreciate your interest in our designs and we’ll
do everything we can to make this awkward time less
annoying. We’re here and working (and Ruth is back from
China, please see our updated “About Us”
page). Email or the
telephone will find us. Please leave a message on the
office answering machine if you miss us, and we’ll get
back to you. Email is a little quicker some days, since
we work the ends of the day at home (John after 4:30
a.m., Ruth after the kids go to bed.)
